Woman dressed in an outfit from the 1840s

While this photograph was probably taken around the 1860s, the costume itself is much older, possibly 1840s. The woman is wearing a dark dress with a very full skirt, probably 'puffed out' with a crinoline. She is also wearing a lace shawl, and a bonnet, tied under her chin with a wide bow. Her hair is curled into ringlets.
