Canberra is the capital city of Australia. It is located in the Australian Capital Territory which is in the east of Australia. Canberra has a population of about 310,000 and is one of the larger cities in Australia. Canberra is at an elevation of approximately 574m above sea level. The nearest sea is the Tasman Sea which is part of the South Pacific Ocean about 110km east-southeast of Canberra.

The nearest more populous place is the metropolis of Sydney which is 250km away with a population of about 3.5 million (show me a map with Canberra and Sydney).
