Congwarra Mine (Cotter Mine) showing original gossan workings highest on the hill. There was also a lower tunnel below these workings and another tunnel (no.2 tunnel) about 120m up the small valley. A third tunnel started next to Paddys River on the other side of the ridge.

Cotter mine No.2 adit. This adit was refurbished by the Bureau of Mineral Resources in about 1975 as part of the local government's idea of promoting tourism in the Cotter area and for mining students. The area was extensively damaged by the 2003 ACT bushfire. The sign says STRICTLY NO ADMITTANCE HIDDEN VERTICAL DROP IN MINESHAFT referring to the winze in the floor of the drive some 75m further on but inaccessible.

No.2 tunnel after 2003 bushfire did not survive. Note single iron railway track still visible.
