Select another page | 1 | 2 | Next  | 1 - Bendora Hut (Contributed by: MontHall 269 pictures ) Bendora Hut was built in 1940 as a kitchen for the Forestry and Timber Bureau workers who established the arboretum here. Dr Lane Poole, then head of the Forestry School, named this area Bendora. It is not an Aboriginal name as many first believed.
The hut is available for day use and emergency shelter only. Camping is not permitted in the water catchment area. If so, Report it |  | 4 - Bendora Hut (Contributed by: MontHall 269 pictures ) Two things make Bendora Hut unusual - its considerable height above ground (presumably for access during heavy snow) and the fireplace which is located in a long wall of the building.
