Sorrento is a suburb of northwest Perth in southwest Western Australia and has a population of around 7,300 (49.3% male, 50.7% female). Around 2076 families live in the area and of those 35.0% have one or more children under the age of 15. 9.4% of families have only a single parent while 34.9% of couples have no children. Sorrento covers an area of approximately 351 hectares (868 acres).

The most common income bracket for people living in Sorrento is between $400-$599 per week (11.9% of people). 7.8% have no income and high income earners ($2000 or more per week) account for 9.0% of the population.

Of the 2530 private dwellings in Sorrento 45% are owned outright by their occupiers, 37% are being purchased (eg. by mortgage) and 15% are being rented.
