Safety Beach is a suburb of south Melbourne in south Victoria and has a population of around 3,100 (47.2% male, 52.8% female). Around 854 families live in the area and of those 31.0% have one or more children under the age of 15. 13.9% of families have only a single parent while 54.6% of couples have no children. Safety Beach covers an area of approximately 601 hectares (1485 acres).

The most common income bracket for people living in Safety Beach is between $150-$249 per week (19.1% of people). 5.6% have no income and high income earners ($2000 or more per week) account for 1.5% of the population.
