The Haughton River in central Queensland starts below Haughton Valley at an elevation of 173m and flows into the Coral Sea of the South Pacific Ocean.

The Haughton River drops around 174m over its 110km length.

The following creeks and rivers flow into the Haughton River: Reid River and Major Creek.
