Home Islands is a coastal locality in northwest Queensland. Its closest capital city is actually Darwin (show me) in the Northern Territory about 1350km to the west (the capital of Queensland is Brisbane (show me), about 2000km away to the south-southeast of Home Islands). Home Islands is one of the northernmost localities in Australia.

Home Islands is located within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. There are 56 other localities within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park: Albany Pass, Anchor Islands, Bedwell Group, Beverley Group, Black Rock Entrance, Bligh Boat Entrance, Broad Sound, Cannibal Group, Cockburn Islands, Cole Islands, Duke Islands, Flat Isles, Flora Pass, Gloucester Pass, Great Barrier Reef, Great Barrier Reef, Great Barrier Reef, Great Barrier Reef, Great Barrier Reef, Great Barrier Reef, Great Barrier Reef, Great Barrier Reef, Great Barrier Reef, Guardfish Cluster, Hervey Islands, Hibernia Entrance, Kennedy Sound, Lindeman Group, Long Island Sound, Low Islets, Manar Group, North Point Isles, Northumberland Islands, Northumberland Isles, Ok Village, Olinda Entrance, One And A Half Mile Opening, One Mile Opening, Pandora Entrance, Percy Isles, Piper Islands, Portland Roads, Quoin Island Entrance, Raine Island Entrance, Safe Entrance, Single Rock Entrance, Sir James Smith Group, Skull Islands, Small Opening, Solway Pass, The Narrows, Thirsty Sound, Trinity Opening, Two Mile Opening, White Cliffs and Whitsunday Group.

The nearest more populous place is the village of Lockhart River which is 93km away with a population of around 450 (show me a map with Home Islands and Lockhart River).
