Taken in the first half of 1982, when climbing Mt Beerwah was permitted, a group of Amateur Radio operators took a "Man-pack" radio (FT-7) with an army tank antenna, motorbike battery, and antenna tuner, to the top of Mt Beerwah and talked to various places including South Australia. -VK4KNH
